The client operates a large distribution facility handling high volumes of stock movement across extended hours. Their existing surveillance system had been in place for many years and was no longer fit for purpose.
Defend.IT was engaged to assess the site and deliver a modern, maintainable replacement with improved coverage and reliable off-site access.
The Challenge
The legacy system presented several practical problems:
- Recorded footage was too low in resolution to be genuinely useful
- Several areas of the site were not adequately covered
- Equipment had aged past the point of reliable support and spares
- Retrieving footage required someone to attend the site in person
Work also had to be staged around live operations, with no disruption to daily activity.
Our Solution
Following a full site assessment, Defend.IT designed and installed a modern IP-based surveillance solution.
The works included updated camera hardware selected to suit each area's lighting and coverage requirements, refreshed cabling infrastructure, and consolidated recording equipment housed in a secure location.
Secure remote access was configured so authorised staff can review footage without attending the site. Installation was staged outside operating hours to avoid interrupting the client's business.

The Outcome
The completed system delivers materially improved image quality and closes the coverage gaps identified during the assessment.
Staff can now retrieve footage remotely, reducing the time and effort previously required to respond to an incident. The consolidated equipment is supportable and serviceable, giving the client a clear upgrade path.
The project was delivered on schedule with no disruption to site operations.
